Magical Christmas Moment

Our family went on the Polar Express on the Hood River Railroad in Hood River Oregon. We were seated in the Domed car with hot chocolate served in a Polar Express mug to take home as a memento.  The book version of the Polar Express was read aloud as "Chief" served us cookies.  The conductor came along and punched the tickets.  All were dressed like characters from the book.  Finally we came upon what we were told was Santa's home, workshop and stable for the reindeer.  All of a sudden, Santa came into view.  He and his elves waived as we came to a stop.  Then an announcement came that Santa wanted to board the train and speak with every child. He worked his way through the train and gave a special gift. A bell from his sleigh....Magic.  He waived goodbye promising to see us soon :) Our train headed back to the station and we were delighted to see that it had begun to snow.  Happy Holidays!

Knee Surgery blues...

So I had knee surgery on Monday, fully expecting to be on my feet by today..... I'm still in pain. At the very least I want to finish a center piece I was working on for TG.  I have a birthday on Friday for a dear friend....I want to be there!

Wish me luck,
Kat

November....Crisp cold days and colorful leaves...

We have been having amazingly clear and crisp, cool days here is the Pacific NW.  We haven't had any really stormy weather so the colorful leaves are still on the trees. I cant wait to transition to the holidays....I just got the new Cricut  Christmas cartridge with all kinds of darling things for the holidays!
Stay tuned for photos!

New perspective...

Today I had to get glasses.  I ignored the fact that I was struggling with my vision. It is going to take some getting used to. I noticed that it was becoming increasingly difficult for me to see small print and stamping was not as much fun because i was missing some of the detail.  I hope they become second nature soon...feel funny and make me dizzy at the moment. Wish me luck!

Cricut Art Philosophy from CTMH with the Imagine

With the Cricut Imagine patterned papers I can cut all the regular cricut cartridges in patterned paper using both cartridges at the same time....I cant wait to add these to Christmas packages. I just need to find the technique for rolling these flowers...its not easy.

Rainy days and Mondays....

Today was the first day of Customer Service week. I enjoy celebrating my co-workers.  They work hard all year long and its time to shower them with attention.  I planned to make them cards, but didn't get finished in time. Instead I ordered a giant cookie, decorated and presented them with a special commemorative pin.  Tomorrow is Root Beer Float day!  Off to scrap a few pages before my favorite shows come on.

first post!

I have been making cards lately. I have used some pre-packaged kits like the one from CTMH. The combination of elements (chipboard, rub-on's and patterned paper) made some really clever cards.  I also used a stamp meant for Halloween for a cute girl glamour card! Check out her blinging ring!
